Why make a Donation?

Anyone with an intellectual disability is eligible to participate in the Special Olympics programme regardless of age or ability level.

Special Olympics Surrey (SOS) offers a full range of training and competition opportunities in summer and winter sports to all people with intellectual disabilities.

Every day we empower athletes to shatter stereotypes and exceed their personal bests on the playing field and in life. But for every Special Olympics champion, there is another who is waiting for a chance to win. Make a donation and help SOS get one more athlete onto the playing field.

Donate today and enable Special Olympics Surrey to offer more sports, more coaching and to allow us to welcome and support many more people to join our teams.

Show your support for our athletes and support the work we do by making a donation.

With more and more enquiries from people with intellectual disabilities wanting to join us we need to secure additional funding to fulfill this ever increasing demand.

As a grass-roots organization, SOS operates with volunteers at all levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a quality sports training and competition experience. Hence, every pound raised for Special Olympics Surrey goes directly into maintaining, growing and improving our activities.

AUTUMN FUNDRAISER

Serpentine Swim by Duncan Aitchison for

Special Olympics Surrey

Saturday 21 September 2019

UPDATE

Image

Duncan Aitchison took part in the 2 mile open water Serpentine Swim to raise much needed money for Surrey Special Olympics.  He said "SO Surrey is a wonderful organisation which does so much to enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through the transformative power of sport and competition."

The swim went well and Duncan completed the event in 1 hr 28 minutes which was about 30 minutes faster than he expected. With fabulous weather and a really well organised event, hundreds of competitors in wet suits and blue swim hats made it very difficult to make him out at the start!

Special Olympics Surrey would like to say a big Thank You to Duncan and to all who have made a donation, currently running at £1,000+.

We will keep the donate page open for a little longer should you wish to show your support.
