British National Ski Championships
February 12, 2008
The SOS Ski Team arrived home from the British National Ski Championships in Italy with no less than 13 medals - 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 Bronze. An absolutely wonderful achievement!
The team had trained hard at the Sandown Ski School and they competed with 65 other skiers from the rest of the country. They have experienced something very special during the whole week and our thanks must be given to Special Olympics GB organisers for giving these athletes something they will never ever forget.
Local athlete Greg Friend has since been selected to represent his country at the World Winter Games in Idaho February 2009.
