SOS  - Skiing

The SOS Ski Team took part in an open ski meeting in Aldershot on Sunday 12th July 2009. The team had a great day with 53 entrants from all over the country. The Aldershot folks excelled themselves with slick organisation. Derek Oosthuizen slaved for most of the day over a hot BBQ, keeping everybody supplied with bangers and burgers. Coca Cola supplied participants with free soft drinks. The day was organised by Jan Williams with tremendous help from all the DSUK folk at Aldershot and many of the Special Olympics Surrey parents and families. Our results were:

Karen Oosthuizen - 2 Golds
Claire Avison - 2 Silvers
Daisy Copp - 1 Gold & 1 Silver
James Coutts - 1 Gold & 1 Silver
Phillip Jordan - 1 Gold & 1 Bronze
Tom Cardillo Zallo - 1 Gold & 1 Silver
Greg Friend - 1 Gold & 1 Silver
Mikael Undrom - 2 Golds
Alex Scarborough - 1 Silver & 1 Bronze

Date for next practice session is:
Sunday 13th September 2009

The team shall be preparing for the next Open Meeting at the West Midlands Venue in Birmingham that takes place on Saturday 17th October 2009.
